FASTFIT RAISES MONEY FOR HEART & STROKE OF CANADA

Fastfit 30 Minute Fitness For Men recognizes the important work of the Health & Stroke Foundation in Canada. In conjunction with our ongoing commitment to increasing men’s awareness of health issues, our company supported the local clubs with a variety of events. The company assisted with an independent fundraising event at the Hamilton club. This fundraiser solicited money from members and non members through fitness competitions and a BBQ lunch. The Newmarket club, with 25 members as volunteers, participated in the Big Bike ride in May, raising over $1,500 through member donations.

Karin Allan, owner of the Newmarket club, was thrilled by her member’s support. Karin stated “our guys were happy to solicit donations for the Heart & Stroke Foundation and were competing with each other for the largest contribution.”

Frank Tucci, owner of the Hamilton club, decided to organize his own fundraiser for the Heart & Stroke Foundation. According to Frank, “ when I discovered what excellent work the Foundation was doing I suggested to my members that we should organize our own event. The members were so enthusiastic that they helped to organize and run the event.” Fastfit International Inc. recognizes the outstanding community involvement of the club owners and appreciates the individual effort put forth by the clubs members. Pursuing an ongoing lifestyle that includes charitable activities will enhance all of the physical exercise that our members participate in and the financial contribution to a health related organization will benefit the community as a whole. We invite suggestions for future charitable activities. Please contact head office for further information.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY VERSUS AGING
As we age the need for physical activity increases. It improves your appearance but also reduces the risk of health complications and accidents in the future. Physical activity reduces the effects of aging on the elasticity of your skin, your bone density and muscle mass. It may also reduce the incidence of autoimmune diseases such as arthritis. A physically active person is also less likely to be injured by accidents such as falls. The most effective method for complete physical activity is to use your local Fastfit club three times per week. The circuit uses 12 of the major muscle groups and you should be training at your target heart rate for about 25 minutes. These 90 minutes of exercise per week will enhance your quality of life for years.

Fastfit 30 Minute Fitness For Men Wants to Entice Men to Hit The Gym- reprinted from the Burlington Post

Walking into a gym doesn't have to be intimidating.

Making workouts more user-friendly is the goal of Bernie DeOre, who owns a local FastFit franchise. The circuit-training facility in the SuperCentre at Upper Middle Road and Guelph Line is designed for men who are unfamiliar with strength-training equipment or who find regular gym membership too time-consuming for their busy schedules.

FastFit is an opportunity for out-of-shape men to get healthier and improve their physical fitness without some of the stresses that go along with a larger gym, said DeOre.

"If you look at men in the 25-75 age group in Burlington, they're very busy," he said. "A lot of people work outside the city, and they're raising families or commuting every day. At FastFit it's always just 30 minutes. It eliminates the time factor."

DeOre's Burlington facility was the first FastFit location in Canada when it opened last month, though it will be soon joined by at least eight other locations in Ontario -- including two more in Burlington.

The male-only membership serves to make the environment more welcoming.

DeOre said it makes sense to exercise with people who are like you. He said FastFit tries to eliminate as many obstacles to fitness as possible.

MOST MEN AVOID GYMS

"Eighty-five per cent of Canadian men have never been in a gym," he said. "Timing is a real issue, but the other thing is the intimidation factor. When you're out of shape and you walk into a room (filled with) massive equipment and guys who look like they work out all the time, you get turned right off."

With the recent success of female-only circuit training centres like Curves, DeOre said the time was right for a similar facility for men.

"Everyone keeps calling us 'Curves for men,'" he said with a laugh. "But it's not a bad analogy."

A FastFit membership card entitles its owner to use any of the chain's gyms. There is a one-time service fee of $199s and a monthly fee of $39.95. Members are free to walk away any time without financial penalty.

For more information or to speak to someone at FastFit about the free two-week trial period, call the SuperCentre location at 905-335-1-FIT.

Fastfit 30 Minute Fitness For Men Teams Up with Cassgarr Sports Inc. to Upgrade and Maintain the City Of Burlington's Baseball Fields

Bernie DeOre, President of Cassgarr Sports Inc., has volunteered for the past seven years in various capacities with the Burlington Organized Minor Baseball Association (BOMBA). In his time with the organization Mr. DeOre recognized the increasing disrepair of the baseball fields and parks. As Canada's largest Fastfit 30 Minute For Men franchisee Mr. DeOre created a funding program to upgrade and maintain the baseball fields with support from his franchisor, Fastfit International Inc. an d his own company. This program ensures that the city's baseball fields and parks will be in pristine shape for the next decade.

(PRWEB) July 31, 2005 -- Mr. DeOre, Mr. Bouck and the other directors of BOMBA recognized the declining level of maintenance at the baseball diamonds operated by the City Of Burlington. The city's funding for these public facilities was not sufficient to increase the level of service nor were new funds available. The board of directors of BOMBA developed a plan whereby volunteers and BOMBA representatives would assist in the grooming and maintenance of all the cities baseball parks. The largest hurdle to the successful implemenation of this plan was the acquisition of the equipment and storage facilities for each park.

Mr. DeOre, in conjunction with Fastfit International Inc. and Cassgarr Sports Inc., completely funded the capital costs necessary to establish this new maintenance program. In exchange for the equipment and facilities Fastfit International Inc. and Cassgarr Sports Inc. have received a park advertising agreement. Using baseball jargon, Mr. DeOre states "This is one of those trades that will help all parties for many years to come."

Keith Gear, Director of Operations for Fastfit International Inc., is proud to be associated with program developed by Mr. DeOre. Mr. Gear states "Bernies involvement with BOMBA and his financial support of the baseball fields is the essence of community service. This program ensures that thousands of Burlington children will be able to enjoy the game of baseball for many years and there is no additional cost to the taxpayers of Burlington." The initial response from the players, parents and BOMBA representatives to this program has been overwhelmingly positive.

Fastfit International Inc. is the franchisor of Fastfit 30 Minute Fitness For Men, Canada's fastest growing mens fitness franchise.

Fastfit 30 Minute Fitness for Men Raises Money for the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada

Fastfit 30 Minute Fitness For Men, Canada's fastest growing mens fitness chain, has recently raised significant funds for the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada. Through a series of member supported events the chain has raised thousands of dollars for the Health & Stroke Foundation of Canada. Keith Gear, President of Fastfit International Inc., appreciates the effort of the two local club owners, Karin Allan and Frank Tucci, to create additional awareness of this important organization.

Karin Allan, President of York Fitness Professionals Inc., was overwhelmed by her members' support. Karin stated "Our guys were happy to solicit donations for the Heart & Stroke Foundation and were competing with each other for the largest total." This competition allowed the Newmarket Fastfit 30 Minute Fitness For Men club to contribute significantly more money then anticipated.

Frank Tucci, President of Rosvin Sports Inc., decided to organize his own fundraiser for the Heart & Stroke Foundation. According to Frank, "When I discovered what excellent work the Foundation was doing I suggested to my members that we should organize our own fund raising event. The members were so enthusiastic that they helped organize and run the event."

Fastfit International Inc. recognizes the outstanding community involvement of the club owners and would like to extend a challenge to fitness clubs everywhere to raise funds for health related organizations. Keith Gear states, "There is a tremendous opportunity with club members to raise awareness on health issues and at the same time solicit funds for these critical ventures. Fitness chains and independent clubs should be working toward overall good health for all society, not just their paying members."

Fastfit International Inc. is the parent organization for Fastfit 30 Minute Fitness For Men, Canada's fastest growing chain of men's fitness clubs.
